Scintilla Wines “Forever Still Sous Voille” MV
Scintilla “Forever Still 2024 MV” is a natural Australian white wine release — not a music video. In this case, “MV” stands for multi-vintage.
The wine is made by winemaker James Madden and blends:
Chardonnay
Pinot Gris
Wine from both the 2023 and 2024 vintages
About 20% from a 7-year-old solera barrel system
Key details:
Region: Adelaide Hills and parts of the Barossa Valley
Organic fruit
Minimal intervention / natural winemaking
No fining or filtration
Some Chardonnay aged “sous voile” (under a yeast veil, similar to Jura wines)
People describe it as:
layered and oxidative
nutty and textured
showing honey, walnut, porridge, and rhubarb notes
richer and deeper than earlier versions
Scintilla Wines 'Forever Still' MV
Chardonnay and Pinot Gris
Biodynamic, Organic, Unfined/Unfiltered, and No preservatives
Both Chardonnay’s were barrel fermented then aged for 1 year sous voile. They were topped and aged for a further whole year. Blended with some 2024 Gris with 20% addition of a solera (7 year old barrel
topped each year and aged on fine lees).
Scintilla is the brand of winemaker James Madden. Desiring a career change, and having worked in the wine industry as a purveyor, it seemed logical for him to then become a maker. Many visits to the Adelaide Hills convinced him and his partner that it it was the right place to put down some roots.
All the grapes are sourced from uncertified organic/biodynamic vineyards, and the main focus is minimal intervention in many senses of the word, with absolutely gentle handling of the grapes and wine, and no fining, filtering or sulphur used.
