Pepella – very rare local variety

Tasting notes
Pale straw in colour with aromas of citrus pith, lemon zest, white flowers and herbal spice. The palate is fresh and lifted, with lively acidity, flinty minerality, hints of saline sea breeze and subtle phenolic texture that makes it both intriguing and highly food‑friendly.
Style & winemaking
Crafted with low‑intervention, traditional techniques, the grapes are hand‑harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and given a short period of skin contact before pressing. Fermentation and aging occur mainly in stainless steel to preserve freshness, purity of fruit and coastal minerality, with minimal added sulfites.
Food pairing
Pairs beautifully with:
Fresh oysters, clams and shellfish
Linguine alle vongole or lemon‑herb seafood pastas
Mediterranean salads and grilled vegetables
Light goat cheeses and antipasti

Monte di Grazia ‘Spurtiglione’ Campania IGT Bianco 2019
At the core of this incredible, tiny operation deep in the mountains of the Amalfi coast are 120 year old, ungrafted vines. These 2.7 hectares of hyper local varieties (Pepella, Ginestra and Bianca Tenera for whites and Tintore di Tramonti with Piedirosso for red) have been held by Alfonso Arpino and his family for longer than anyone can remember. Yields are miniscule, soils volcanic/red clay and farming organic in practice. The wines are unique; high in acid, expressive and free from convention. They speak poetically of rural Campania with its rugged mountains, verdant valleys, fresh sea breezes and rustic porchetta rolls from the servo.
