Future Perfect Future Perfect Pinot Noir 2025
Future Perfect Future Perfect Pinot Noir 2025 is a cool-climate Tasmanian Pinot Noir that continues the producer’s focus on elegant, site-driven wines from regions including the Coal River Valley and Upper Derwent Valley.
While detailed official notes for the 2025 vintage are still limited, recent vintages give a strong indication of the style. The wine is typically made with a combination of hand-selected fruit parcels, partial whole-bunch fermentation, natural yeast ferments and maturation in French oak for around 11 months, with restrained use of new oak.
The style leans toward savoury and refined rather than overly fruity or heavy. Common tasting characteristics include:
dark cherry and wild strawberry
blackberry and bramble
dried herbs and spice
floral notes like violet and rose petal
earthy, mineral-driven structure
fine tannins with bright natural acidity
Reviewers have praised recent releases for their “slinky mineral-laden line,” fine tannin structure and ageing potential.
The wine comes from Tasmania’s cool climate, which is particularly well suited to Pinot Noir because of its long ripening season and maritime influence. This helps produce wines with freshness, perfume and tension rather than jammy richness.
Typical food pairings include:
duck
mushroom dishes
grilled salmon
lamb
charcuterie
soft cheeses
A lighter and brighter approach to Pinot Noir as with previous years. Two parcels of fruit from the north and south of the state, both handled similarly to bring the fruit to the fore. 100% destemmed with gentle handling during fermentation. Pressed off skins after 12-14 days and matured in old oak for 5 months.
Small batch wines made from parcels of fruit sourced sites of interest in lutruwita/Tasmania, with a focus on Chardonnay and Pinot Noirfrom the Derwent Valley. The winery is located on the outskirts of Hobart in the industrial hub of Goodwood. A repurposed meat processing facility now home to three wine producers working communally. Some barrels, a few tanks, a basket press and a forklift. Winemaking here is honest and rustic.
