Patrick Underwood is a Central Victorian winemaker whose journey into wine began through a passion for coffee and hospitality in Castlemaine, where early mentorship from Jarad Curwood inspired him to make his first wine, a backyard-fermented Shiraz, under the Little Reddie name. Largely self-taught, he developed his craft through work at City Wine Shop, harvests at Bannockburn and Gembrook Hill, and extensive travel and vintage experience across renowned European wine regions, including three harvests with Olek Bondonio in Barbaresco, which cemented a lifelong passion for Nebbiolo. In 2015, he formally established Little Reddie Wines alongside co-founding the Boomtown cooperative winery in Castlemaine, building a reputation for thoughtful, site-driven wines from Central Victoria. In 2024, he launched Patrick Underwood Wines, a project dedicated to producing refined expressions of Chardonnay and Nebbiolo that reflect the region, his experience, and his ongoing pursuit of beautiful, expressive wines.
