James and Sherrie Ellis launched Ada Wine Co as a passion project with an emphasis on viticulture in 2019. Ada is short for Adelaide and is also the name of James's great great grandmother. Having spent time as a viticulturist in the Barossa for Penfolds, the Adelaide Hills and Hunter Valley prior to winemaking stints around Australia, James has employed his extensive knowledge of vineyards to source fruit from great vineyards around South Australia's best regions. Based in the Adelaide Hills, we craft textured, terroir-driven wines that speak of place.
