The debut Alessandro Stefani ‘Boccolo’ comes from their ‘Gate’ vineyard, positioned on a challenging west-facing mid-slope of the gully, where the terrain is steep and the topsoil scant before reaching bedrock. They are in the process of converting this site to organic, aiming for full certification by 2025. Notably, the sangiovese plant material was sourced from cuttings Alessandro's father brought over from Italy two decades ago, originating from my grandfather’s abandoned vineyard in Tuscany.
